dokta has been seen lurking around 20:20 vision with a curious take on that label s particular brand of house. that step to the left becomes more pronounced on this record, where dokta gets to call on a wealth of live instrumentation to animate his sound. on london nights he interweaves vocal, ambling keys and crooked basslines into a curious and utterly inspired cocktail of cool-headed pressure, which jason heath then simmers down to a purely instrumental refrain. burnski goes to the other extreme and beefs the track up for a firm and functional ride, while ralph lawson dubs the track out and gives it a low slung swagger.

reality check a one-off project from freddy turner & jason hernandez who dropped this soulful, street-tough slice of house on strictly rhythm back in 1998. this is one of those hidden gems, tucked away in the recesses of the strictly catalogue, so it may well have slipped by under the radar save for a few dedicated heads and vinyl junkies! it s got that nyc sound, hard drums, vocal samples, tripped out loops and stabs. perfect dj material if you re into the funked out stripped back house sounds of the mid to late 90s, this one will certainly be (in) your bag. fantasy has been given some tasty 2017 remastering treatment and repressed onto a high quality, weighty 12inch for all you fiends out there, this one will keep them moving in the mix. perfect nyc house sounds here, untouched and represented in its original 1998 form, no sleeping permitted!

while our output in 2017 has been delayed, our pursual of quality artists persisted. moods & grooves welcomes detroit area artist jason hogans best know for his debut ep peter and the rooster on planet e. his introductory effort on m&g also features the multi-talented paul randolph. sue features pauls effortlessly awesome vocal and bass guitar talents, funky wurlitzer chords, and chunky drums. andres gives sue a proper deep bounce treatment with his stomping remix. work the terminals- is an animated, minorkey, wallshaking analog bassline (ask his neighbor) & cracking drum kit with an lfo/filter-freaked sample chop chutney holding it all together on a funky house tip. yum, y all. the work the terminals ep is inspired by jason’s traveling and performing over the past several years and we hope it moves you.
